Skip The Plane Fare Stay Local

Out side view of the African American museum

As a college kid some time you just want to flout away and be some where new. As much are getting on a plane and going to some exotic new place would be nice, we all cannot be millionerds at 20. Instead all you need is 10 dollars. Get on a train to the nation’s capital and have a new adventure.

On one nice Thursday afternoon I got my friends out of bed and we took to the streets of DC for our new adventure. We all decided that anything free was the way to go, so we landed on going to the National Museum of African American History and Culture.

After getting checked in by security we walked straight up the stair to the fourth floor and work our way done ways. The great thing about this museum is that it isn’t just a building with facts and pictures of old people. There is a lot of interactive games to help in the learning process but also keep any one entertained.

On the fourth floor it was mostly about music (hip hop, rap, r&b and soul) and entertainment (television, movies radio). There were pictures of the now famous people that helped in the creation of these genres. Alongside though exhibitions would be a game where you could create your own beat or sing along to a song. They showed what it met to be a black person on television at the time. Doing a good job of showing how Black pop culture has evolved over the years.

After spending time on the fourth floor we moved down to the third floor. This floor was mostly about how blacks traveled throughout the states and what it met to be black during this time.  There was a game where you sat in a car and it simulated driving and gave you scenarios that people would have possible experience. The aim was for you to make the best choice to reach your destination. On this floor they also talked about the art of STEP culture were a game taught a step routine and educated you on what stepping was and what it meant to the African American community.

This museum is a great choice because it really allows you to see all the ups and downs that African American had to go through in the united states.

After spending about 3 hours in the museum it was closing time and we had one gotten through half of the museum.

Lastly if you decide to go here somethings you should do:

1.   Go early
2.   Wear comfortable shoes
3.   Get a pass online if you come on the weekend or any holiday
4.   Have an open mind and learn something new

5.   Bring your friends and have fun.

I love the color scheme, your labels, and how you have pictures and videos strategically placed throughout the blog. However, I think the related text should go underneath the pictures/videos to look more visibly appealing. Also, if you're highlighting some of the text to make it white, make it consistent throughout the blog. I think you should add the word "and" between "fare" and "stay" in the title. There are some grammatical errors, such as in the first paragraph (i.e. "as much are" should be "as much as").
